Bailey Calls on Lincoln Davis to Stop the Spending Spree
7/21/2010Franklin, TN – (July 21, 2010) Conservative Republican candidate Jack Bailey called on liberal Democrat Lincoln Davis today to vote ‘No’ on the bill to extend unemployment benefits without any money to pay for it.
“President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Lincoln Davis think the best way for us to get our economy back on track is to spend more money. I think we can do better,” said Bailey.
In the month of June, Tennessee lost more jobs than almost every other state in the country. According to the Department of Labor statistics, only New York and California lost more jobs than Tennessee.
“Tennesseans in the 4th district don’t want government handouts, they want jobs. My plan to get Tennessee’s economy back on track is simple. If we lower taxes, limit regulations, and get government out of the way, then businesses will hire. When we can create certainty in the market place, and companies don’t fear a government takeover of their industry, investments will return and jobs will be created.
“Liberals in Congress have shown us they can’t be trusted with the checkbook. While Lincoln Davis likes to hides behind being Blue Dog Democrat, he has followed Nancy Pelosi’s lead and agreed to billions of dollars in new spending. It’s time we send a Congressman to Washington who will put a stop to the reckless spending and help create the economic conditions for businesses to thrive,” added Bailey.
Jack Bailey is a small business owner, husband of 18 years to his wife Nancy, and father of six young children. Jack enrolled in the Army National Guard at age 17, and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Covenant Theological Seminary. Jack and his family are active members in their church, where Jack has served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. The Baileys live in Franklin.
